By calling on David Futch you will be able to skip much of the effort in finding an honest, hardworking, and resourceful Realtor. My family’s home in Olinda, Makawao needed help. Over the years the large main house, the pool, the yard, and the quaint old ohana cottage were showing their age. We needed to sell and I was already on the mainland. I interviewed eight Realtors and chose David Futch to sell the property for us. He advised me that the property would sell at the highest price if it were in good shape. He was able to recommend professional landscapers, carpenters, painters, inspectors, and craftsmen to make the houses inviting and able to sell quickly at the best price. They all did a great job at very reasonable cost. Being on the mainland and working with David Futch on Maui was easy. Using e-mail , phone, and fax we communicated daily and often times many times daily. I found it to be a pleasure working with Dave Futch in purchasing our first home. At first, I was a bit skeptical that my wife and I would find a home that we would be happy with. I could not afford many of the nicer homes that were listed and many of the homes that I could afford were ‘fixer uppers’. I was in a situation where my wife didn’t exactly want to settle for a ‘fixer upper ’. Within a few weeks, Dave had a connection and found us a charming remodeled two bedroom house for a price that was cheaper than many of the fixer uppers. This house wasn’t listed on the MLS and I probably wouldn’t have found it had it not been for Dave.
I found Dave to be knowledgeable and helpful, as we viewed different houses. Case in point, he pointed out termite damage in one house we looked at that I did not see at first. He displayed a pleasant manner and at no point did we feel pressured to buy a house. He did most of the work, including working with my bank and opening escrow, making for an easy and pleasant home purchase. He even gave us gift cards, after we moved in, that we are also thankful for.
This letter doesn’t do enough to show our sincere appreciation for the work that he put into purchasing our home. If I ever purchase another home, I would look forward to working with him again.

David Futch helped my husband and me find a home on Maui. We worked with David for a year in order to make this happen. The first deal fell through. We came back in July with 11 homes picked out even though David was on vacation in Florida. David assigned us his very competent assistant and with her help and being in communication with him every day we were able to find a home and put it into escrow. It seemed like we called him several times a day but he remained cheerful and helpful in order to ensure paper work was filled out correctly etc. Once he returned home he was able to refer us to inspection professionals, mortgage brokers and insurance agents. He did more than just help us find a house to buy. His interest was that the process was as least stressful to us as possible it is very different buying a home in Hawaii than in NY. In closing. I would like to say that one could not find a better guide to the journey of living on Maui than Mr. David Futch. He is more than willing to share is 20+ years of living here with you. Buying a home in today's market is probably the most difficult thing to do but having David made this big commitment a lot easier. Dave in few short months was able to discern our needs and match us with the right community to look into. Narrowing down the choices required much patience and we taxed David to no end. David helped us thru many offers giving us excellent advice and perspective into the value of each home we considered purchasing. When we finally found the place we couldn't pass up, Dave was there negotiating for the best price. Escrow found us with meeting Dave's invaluable contacts including mortgage agent, title company as well as building inspector.
